Designed to welcome guests with the textures and tones of the Ryukyu Islands, our collaboration with Canopy by Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort celebrates the spirit of the locale through an abstract, tactile lens. This project features two primary installations that translate the island’s raw beauty into refined interior art.
Sugarcane Fields
Positioned to receive guests at the entrance, this work is a geometric play on the island’s iconic plantations. The piece utilizes Elsa’s signature lime plaster, meticulously layered to create deep, rhythmic ridges. By incorporating copper leaf with a dual matte-and-gloss finish, the artwork captures the shifting light of the tropics, inviting visitors to anticipate the vibrant experiences awaiting them on the island.
Golden Glow in Moss Color
A serene exploration of light and vegetation, this piece utilizes Elsa’s innovative oscillation technique. It features a rich blend of mineral textures and shimmering orange copper, evoking the lush, mossy landscapes of Miyako Island. The "Golden Glow" serves as a bridge between nature and artistry, creating a warm, immersive atmosphere that grounds the interior space in a sense of calm.
