Designed as a flexible architectural “skin,” the collection is aimed at designers for custom-made projects, from walls to furniture pieces and collectibles. For founder Elsa Jeandedieu, this creation marks a deep return to the roots of her imagination.
By returning to the primitive essence of matter, raw, noble textures of stone, marble, wood, and woven fibers, the collection brings natural and ancestral elements into dialogue with a contemporary, evolving base. A living material, conceived as an extension of space.
Matière Fluide represents the dynamic synthesis of Elsa’s path. It directly links the decorative act to the very root of inspiration: the raw handling of primary materials. Stone, marble, wood, and woven fibers are reinterpreted through an architectural language in which textures are no longer confined to rigid load-bearing walls, but become true flexible skins. Elsa continues, through her work, to explore the boundaries between tactile art, human perception and the built environment.
Slowing the Senses: The Meditative Contrast of Matt and Gloss
In today’s interiors, often digitized and stripped down, these deep, earthy, textured surfaces act as an essential sensory anchor. Elsa’s approach explores cymatics, translating the environment’s invisible vibrations and rhythms into a tactile, physical, lasting form.
Deep matt gritty textures serve as a grounding, stabilizing force. They absorb light, giving overworked eyes a soft place to rest, creating a feeling of quiet comfort and stillness. In contrast, high-gloss surfaces capture the kinetic, fluid energy of liquid, bending the light around them to make a room feel larger, brighter, and more uplifting.
Architects and interior designers can use these surfaces to deliberately alter how occupants perceive a volume. Patterns and color palettes are calibrated like frequencies of stability, intended to soothe and support the internal rhythm.
