“ A homage to the beauty of Taiwan’s natural landscapes.”
Resting in the heart of Capella Taipei, spanning four 15-meter-high walls from the ground floor to the fourth level of the atrium, Elsa Jeandedieu’s ”Mineral Meditations” pays homage to the earthy, mineral-rich landscapes of Taiwan in this modern mansion designed by André Fu Studio.
This project is presented by the Artling.

The mural's foundation is rooted in a textured, mineral plaster base that evokes the diverse rock formations and tectonic movements that have shaped Taiwan over millennia. Rich, earthy hues of ochre, sienna, and umber create a solid, grounded presence, while oscillating plaster applications introduce a sense of depth and gentle movement.

As the viewer's gaze travels upward, the mural's color palette begins to shift, gradually transitioning from the mineral-inspired tones at the base to a more atmospheric, sky- inspired realm. Wisps of pale blue and grey blue plaster applications give way to other pastel hues of peach and dusty pink capturing the ever-changing drama of Taiwan's skies.

The mural's evolution mirrors the dynamic interplay between the island's terrestrial and celestial realms, highlighting the harmonious integration of these elemental forces. Viewers are invited to embark on a meditative journey, contemplating the intricate tapestry of Taiwan's natural landscapes and the rhythmic cadence of earth, sky, and light.
Through its use of textured surfaces, earthy color palettes, and a captivating sense of movement, "Mineral Meditations" offers a profound and immersive experience, celebrating the inherent beauty and timeless wonder of Taiwan's geological heritage.
