The soul of the city and the grace of the wild.
— Capella Taipei

Capella Taipei is a modern mansion designed by the renowned André Fu Studio in Songshan District, Taipei. As guests enter through the entrance archway, they are welcomed into Plume, an intimate sanctuary that invites convivial moments from dawn to dusk.

Here, a signature texture mural by French artist Elsa Jeandedieu showcases the local blue magpie against a rich terracotta and camel sand palette.

The central focal point of the mural is a striking depiction of the blue magpie, rendered in an eye-catching metallic gold finish that captures the bird's signature iridescent sheen.

As a curation with The Artling, Elsa Jeandedieu and her artist team designed and created the signature texture mural “Long Tail Mountain Lady”, named after the local blue magpie, an endemic bird species found only in Taiwan.

The rest of the mural features a harmonious palette of complementary earth-toned hues, including rich cognac, warm terracotta, soft dusty pink, and deep earthy brown. These colors create an abstract, almost dreamlike background that subtly references the bird's natural mountain habitat in Taiwan.

The mural is brought to life through the “Oscillation” technique, developed by Elsa over 20 years. Rhythmic textures, signifying the natural energy that flows through all things, are created on mineral plaster and imitation gold leaves, adding a dreamlike touch of vitality to the space.

“Long Tail Mountain Lady” aims to inspire viewers to appreciate the natural wonder of the island's endemic species, while also showcasing the beauty that can emerge from an abstract, imaginative artistic interpretation.
